Electronic Pimsleur
Audio Downloads
Catee’s Language World is proud to
introduce electronic Pimsleur downloads! With Pimsleur downloads, you
don’t have to wait for the post office to deliver your CDs. You don’t
have to pay any shipping costs. You can burn your own copies onto your
own CDs and you can listen to Pimsleur on your portable music players (they
must support WMA format).
The
downloads will come as a .zip file, complete with a printable Pimsleur User’s
Guide, a reading booklet (if your download comes with reading lessons), and
cover artwork.
When you
purchase a downloadable Pimsleur product from Catee’s Language World, the
electronic file will be available for download immediately after
purchase. In addition, you may login to your Catee’s Pimsleur Download
account at a later time to download the electronic file at your convenience.
Unfortunately, these downloads will not work on Macintosh computers due to Microsoft choosing not to support Windows Media Player on Mac computers. Please see the FAQ for possible solutions.

4. In
what file format are the audio files encoded?
The files
are encoded in Windows Media Audio 9.1 using 48kbps, 44 kHz, stereo 2-pass VBR
(variable bit rate) format in order to ensure high audio quality while
maintaining a reasonable size for downloads.
5. Can I
play Pimsleur on my iPod?
Yes, but it will require some work. In order
to play the downloadable Pimsleurs on your iPod, you will need to convert them
from WMA to MP3 format. To do this, you must first burn your Pimsleur
download to an audio CD using Windows Media Player and then convert from the CD to MP3 format. These actions are required because the iPod does not support Microsoft's Digital Rights Management technology.
6. Can I
play Pimsleur on my Apple Macintosh?
Unfortunately, these downloads will not work on Macintosh computers due to Microsoft choosing not to support Windows Media Player on Mac computers. One potential solution is to download the WMA files to a Windows computer, burn audio CD's using Windows Media Player, and then use the CD's on the Mac. The CD's will be your own copy as if you had purchased the CD's directly.
7. I want to listen to these in my car. How can I play these on my car's CD player?
Many of our customers listen to Pimsleurs while driving. To put these in a format suitable for your car CD player, you must download the WMA files to a Windows computer, burn audio CD's using Windows Media Player, and then you can use the CD's in your car CD player. You will need 1 CD for every 2 lessons. The CD's will be your own copy as if you had purchased the CD's directly.
